“There have been hard times”: Grant Denyer’s emotional tribute to wife on wedding anniversary
Grant and Chezzi Denyer have both taken to social media to express their love for each other as they celebrate their eighth wedding anniversary.
However, the 40-year-old Family Feud host did not try to gloss over the “hard times” the duo had overcome together.
“Happy 8th anniversary bub. I remember crying like a baby when you walked down the aisle. It's been an amazing eight years, a lot of magical moments and yes, a couple of hard times along the way that I couldn't have survived without your love and joy for life,” he wrote.
“And what a little family we've got! Two of the most spectacular kids anyone could dream of. Choc-a-block full of as much spunk, compassion, tenderness and humour as their gorgeous Mum. I am truly lucky to call you mine.”
“Sorry I still leave my dirty clothes on the chair next to the bed... I'm changing that in 2018. I want to be the perfect husband you deserve. Thanks for eight wonderful years bringing love and light into my life. Can't wait to see how much more magical this love story can get. Happy anniversary. I love you.”
Chezzi was touched by Grant’s emotional post and commented saying, “This is so beautiful. I'm crying. Very emotional. Love you so much and miss you to absolute pieces today...”
Chezzi also took the time to reflect on the hurdles they had past to get to where they are today.
“We've had more than our share of ups and downs. We've shared triumph and we've endured tragedy. But nothing ever came close to hurting us because our love bond is so strong,” she said.
In April last year, Grant was involved in a near-fatal car accident where he was forced to recover in a wheelchair.
The TV host was racing a Lotus rally car with friend Dale Mosscat when they hit a tree at 160 km/h.
Grant was able to get himself out of the vehicle and flag down an oncoming car to assist his friend.
Grant was left with a broken finger and tailbone while his friend suffered a broken leg. Later, Grant said he was thankful that everyone involved in the incident suffered little harm from such a serious crash.
