Karl Stefanovic's ex-wife opens up about co-parenting
Last year, Today co-host Karl Stefanovic shocked the nation when he announced his split from wife of 21 years, Cassandra Thorburn, only to find love again mere months after with 33-year-old fashion designer Jasmine Yarbrough.
The 12 months since their break-up hasn’t been easy for Cassandra, who earlier this year said Karl was “dead” to her. Now, she’s opened up about the difficulty of co-parenting with Karl after such a bitter and public divorce.
“We have three children and often attend [family] events, but of course not together,” she told the Daily Mail. “We are divorced.”
The admission comes just days after the former couple were photographed at their son River’s end-of-school speech day at Luna Park – albeit keeping a healthy distance between one another.
In a recent op-ed for Now To Love, Cassandra slammed women’s mag New Idea for claiming she was plotting a “final revenge” against Karl and was “weeks away” from taking on a new job that could make her “even more successful than her Logie-winning ex".
“I know the magazine has not spoken to any of my close friends,” she wrote. “Shame on them for dragging my loyal support network into this.
“As this pathetic article suggests, I don’t feel the need to exact revenge on Karl for leaving me – I’m just happy to be starting a new chapter of my life."
