5 life hacks to cut your cleaning time

These life hacks will help to slash the time you have to spend cleaning your home.
1. Keep a window wiper in the shower
Removing soap scum from your shower door can be an arduous task at the best of times. Save yourself from endless scrubbing by wiping away any soap or water marks with a window wiper before you step out of the shower. You can pick one up from Bunnings for $5.
2. Keep an old towel under your sink
Do you find your bathroom full of stray hairs after every shower? This hack is for you. Keep an old hand towel hidden under the sink and use it to clean away those sticky hairs after every hair-dry.
Not only will this keep the bathroom looking tidier, but it will shorten the amount of time you have to spend cleaning your bathroom at the end of the week.
3. Clean out the fridge before grocery shopping
There is nothing worse than finding rotting fruit or a plate of smelly leftovers hidden at the back of your fridge. Keep your fridge looking and smelling fresh by taking five minutes to check its contents and throwing out anything that's expired before you go to the supermarket.
This will also give you a better idea of what you need to purchase and will leave more room to store your groceries once you return. Better still, give the inside of your fridge a quick wipe down with a damp cloth while you're at it.
4. Put oven racks in the dishwasher
Save yourself from having to soak and scrub baked-on stains from your oven racks by putting them in your dishwasher once a week.
5. Have a designated ‘dumping zone’
Assign each family member a designated dumping zone for all the things they need to use on a daily basis. Whether it be a storage basket, hook or a draw, keeping all these items in one place will reduce the amount of clutter spread around the house and will make the morning rush that little bit less painful.
