Inside Shane Warne’s $1.4 million childhood home

Cricket legend Shane Warne’s childhood family home is back on the market again.

The home in Hampton, Victoria, left the Warne family after being sold by his parents Keith and Brigitte in 1976 for $41,000.

The home where Warne spent his early childhood has been offered to the market twice since 2017, and currently has a price guide of $1.35-$1.485 million.

The three-bedroom and two-bathroom home has been described as a property that blends period charm with contemporary style.

"The style of the home and the fact that a lot of the work has been done by the previous owner have been the main drawcards," Alan McGillivray, agent at Nick Johnstone, said.

"And the position, which is handy to Thomas St Reserve, but more so the style, being a California bungalow, has been quite appealing."

Apart from the home’s connection to an Australian sporting icon, other drawcards include the butler’s pantry and a newly renovated kitchen and laundry.
