URGENT RECALL of popular food product

An urgent recall of protein balls sold throughout Australia has been issued amid fears of plastic contamination.

Food Standards Australia issued the recall for Bounce Protein Ball Cashew Caramel 40g on Wednesday afternoon. 

The protein balls can be found at Coles, Woolworths and independent food retailers including IGA, 7-Eleven, Caltex, BP, EG Fuels and United Fuel. 

The product has also been seen for sale at On the Run in South Australia and even pharmacies and online retail outlets.

The recall has been issued “due to the potential presence of foreign matter”.

Health food lovers have been warned that “food products containing plastic may cause injury / illness if consumed”.

The protein balls customers should return is batch M2310 and have a best before date of 21/07/21. 

Shoppers who bought the Bounce protein ball have been advised not to eat the product and instead return to the place of purchase for a full refund.
