This Aussie pub with no toilets has punters complaining

Anyone who’s spent an afternoon at the pub with their friends would agree that after a certain point, the most important part of the facility. Which is perhaps why so many people are complain about this new German beer bar in Victoria.

The Bavarian, a recently opened beer hall at Knox Ozone, had received a slew of complaints from punters about the fact that the venue doesn’t have its own bathroom.

There are a few public toilets in a nearby laneway, but this doesn’t do much to cater for the 250 people the bar can fit, who are regularly downing one-litre steins.

Several have complained, including Glen Sheppard who said, “A pub with no toilets, surely this is a piss take”.

David Logan said: “Beer in steins and no bathrooms. Bunch of savages in this town”.

Rob Parker added: “No toilets within the bar, you have to leave and use public toilets located near JB Hi-Fi. I thought for a restaurant that serves alcohol and food, they legally must provide toilets within the venue?”

Rachel Lebihan, a spokeswoman for Bavarian owner Rockpool, hit back, saying if toilets were provided in shopping malls close enough, venues had no obligation to install them.
