Spiced apple and fig jam

Add the delicious flavour of figs, apple and cinnamon to your breakfast with this tasty homemade spiced jam.

Makes: 8 cups

Ingredients:

Method:

1. In a large saucepan, add apples and water and bring to a boil.

2. Reduce heat and let simmer for 20 minutes, covered.

3. Add figs and juice and continue to cook for another 10 minutes.

4. Measure fruit mix. Measure three-quarter cup of sugar per each cup of fruit. Return fruit to saucepan.

5. Add sugar, star anise, cinnamon and vanilla to the saucepan and stir until sugar dissolves.

6. Boil uncovered for 45 minutes or until jam is gelled.

7. Pour jam into jars and seal.
