MasterChef’s Poh fights back tears: “I’m getting really overwhelmed”

Viewers watched in anticipation on Monday night during Channel 10’s MasterChef: Back To Win as competitors on the show were split into two teams.

Judges told the hopeful cooks that they would battle it out to avoid facing the dreaded Pressure Test on Tuesday.

However, instead of the groups working hard to avoid the elimination cook-off in front of just cameras, they were given a warm welcome applause from an amphitheatre of die-hard MasterChef fans.

There was one contestant the crowd seemed to love the most though, and that was Poh, the talented chef and author who came runner-up in MasterChef Australia season one 11 years ago.

“Poh, Poh, Poh,” the excited fans chanted as the stars entered the arena.

The Poh’s Kitchen author was shown visibly shocked, just as her fellow contestants were.

Struggling as she choked back tears, Poh told viewers, “I'm getting really overwhelmed.”

The star admitted that competing over ten years on from season one of the hit competitive cooking show made her realise just how long the “journey of MasterChef has been going for.

“And how much of an impact this show has made on the Australian psyche, and how much they love it and how much they love us.”

“It's just a really lovely feeling.”
