Grant Denyer shamed for packing "inappropriate" item in kid's lunchbox

Grant Denyer has been shamed for packing an “unhealthy” item in his child’s lunchbox, receiving a surprise note from his daughter’s school after packing her lunch.

Denyer shared the story on the radio show he co-hosts, Breakfast with Em, Grant and Ed on 2Day FM, and says he was quite shocked when he came across the note.

“A letter was sent home from Sailor’s school for having an inappropriate item in her lunchbox,” he said.

“The note said it was inappropriate because it was an unhealthy item in a lunchbox and that contravenes school policy on lunches.”

But what’s the item that caused so much controversy? A gluten-free, home-made, chocolate-chip muffin, which Grant had made with his daughter.

Denyer’s co-host Em Rusciano was quick to weigh in, saying that while there is an obesity problem in Australia, this lunchbox note was perhaps taking things a little too far.

Denyer himself said he was embarrassed to receive the note and said after getting it he felt like her was the “worst parent in the world”.

What are your thoughts? Do you think schools have a right to monitor what children are eating for lunch? Or should they keep their mind on their own business?
