Parents reveal why grandparents are so wonderful

“The reason grandparents and grandchildren get along so well is that they have a common enemy,” said American humourist Sam Levenson. It’s a fun quote that gives grandparents and grandkids a giggle because it has that slight ring of truth to it. But what does the “common enemy” aka the parents think about grandparents? Well, parents of the internet were more than happy to share the top reasons why they consider themselves, and their kids, lucky that grandparents play such an important role in the family.

1. Rain, hail or shine, grandparents are always there when you really need them.

2. All grandparents need is grandkids to keep them entertained. And the look on the face when they see grandchildren? That’s love.

3. They keep family traditions and history alive.

4. Grandparents are willing to embrace changes (like technology and social media) to keep up with their children and grandchildren.

5. Grandkids can do no wrong in grandparents’ eyes (which is the way it should be).

6. They know what really matters and are full of life lessons for parents and grandchildren – both serious and the silly.

7. Parents get to glimpse what grandparents were like as parents, and it makes you appreciate them that much more.

8. They taught parents everything they know, and that in of itself is a reason to be eternally grateful.
