Terri Irwin’s heartbreaking confession

Terri Irwin has opened up about the plans she and Steve shared to expand their family before his sudden death at the age of 44 in 2006. Speaking to E! News at the Steve Irwin Gala Dinner, Terri revealed they had discussed trying for more children.

“Steve said to me how excited he was when Bindi was born,” she recalled. “He said, ‘Do you think we could have a boy?’ And then Robert was born, and they’re perfect. They’re easy kids, they’re wonderful to me, they’re such a help.

“I said to Steve, ‘Let's have a third.’ And he said, ‘You have a girl and you have a boy. What are you hoping for?’”

Unfortunately, these dreams never had the chance to become reality after Terri unexpectedly found herself a single mum at the age of 42. When asked about the secret to her special bond with children Bindi and Robert, the now-52-year-old said it was “love at first sight”.

“Some people don’t believe in it, and then you have a baby and fall in love with this person the way you never knew you could love somebody.”
