Sam Mac gets emotional as he shares major family news
Sam Mac has teared up as he announced the exciting news that he is soon to become a father of two.
The Sunrise weatherman took to Instagram on Saturday to share a snap of him, his fiancée Rebecca, and their one-year-old daughter Margot, as Rebecca showed off her growing baby bump while Sam held an ultrasound photo.
He captioned the photo, "Baby Mac (the sequel) premiering this August 2024 🍿Starring Margot as The Big Sister."
On Monday morning's episode of Sunrise, hosts Nat Barr and Matt Shirvington congratulated Sam on the joyous news, who was crossing in live from Taronga Zoo.
“Sam, you have some very exciting family news,” Matt asked Sam, who looked overjoyed as he shared the news with viewers.
“Thank you, we shared this photo over the weekend — I hope you appreciate it, it took 147 takes to get that photo,” Sam said as he became emotional talking about his growing family.
He went on to mention his mother, Loretta, who had been campaigning for a second grandchild from the couple since the birth of their first.
“Shout-out to my mum, Loretta, who has been the biggest campaigner for a second child,” Sam said.
“She started the campaign while in the delivery ward for Margot. Everything is on track — 16 weeks,” he laughed.
“Baby is due in August, team. Very exciting time.”
Nat Barr quickly jumped in to say congratulations to the growing family.
“Congratulations to all three of you,” Nat said.
“That’s wonderful news,” Shirvo added.
