QLD Police announce passing of beloved police dogs

Queensland Police have announced the deaths of two of their beloved dogs who assisted police on their missions.

In a heartbreaking Facebook post, Queensland Police shared photos of PD Yogy and PD Hexa, sharing their incredible contributions.

QPS Dog Squad reported the passing of retired Police Dog Yogy aged 11 years and Police Dog Hexa aged 16 years.

“PD Yogy performed operational duties in the Gold Coast and Ipswich Districts from 2012 to 2020 and was highly regarded for his tracking ability,” the post read.

When PD Yogy retired, he was living a “life of luxury” with his handler and family.

PD Hexa underwent a Drug Detection and Cadaver Course and successfully completed it but did not go ahead with it.

She was needed in a more important job - being a mother.

Despite this, PD Hexa still contributed to the QPS dog squad and Australasian dog agencies.

“Rest in peace, our four legged friends.”
