Princess Eugenie’s sweet nickname for her father Prince Andrew

Princess Eugenie is one of the only royal family members to have their own personal Instagram account.

The 29-year-old royal’s latest snapshot was a sweet reminder of just how close she is to her family.

The heartfelt series of photographs were made to honour Prince Andrew’s formal duty as Colonel of the Grenadier at Buckingham Palace over the weekend.

What stuck out though was the royal’s sweet caption that allowed royal fans some insight into the York family life, and even the sweet name she and her sister Princess Beatrice refer to their father as.

Beneath the picture, the royal wrote: “Today, the Yorks were really proud of Papa @hrhthedukeofyork as Colonel of the @grenadier.guards.”

“He reviewed the parade and took the salute at the Colonel's Review. The Grenadier Guards will troop their colour next week in front of their colonel-in-chief, Her Majesty The Queen,” the caption continued.

“Congrats! What a proud moment. Love seeing you all together!” one fan commented wrote below the post.

Another added: “So nice to see you all together, I have always adored your mama. She was always her ‘authentic self’, before that was even a thing.”

Not only does the Duke of York have a special nickname, so does Sarah Ferguson, the Duke of York who both princesses’ refer to as “mumsy,” according to a September 2018 Vogue interview.

The former wife of Prince Andrew was also in attendance at the special event, and although the couple divorced in 1996 – they have maintained a close bond and relationship.

“So proud of @hrhthedukeofyork on parade today for The Colonel's Review with @grenadier.guards at Horseguards and also my girls,” Ferguson wrote in an Instagram post.
