Prince Nikolai is all grown up in new birthday portraits released by Danish palace

The Danish royal family has released three new portraits of Prince Nikolai to celebrate his 20th birthday.

Blowing out his candles on August 28, Nikolai is the eldest son of Prince Joachim and his first wife Alexandra, Countess of Frederiksborg.

He is currently seventh in-line to the Danish throne and is the nephew of Princess Mary.

The royal family took to Instagram to share three new photos of the dashing Prince to honour the special occasion.

According to Danish media, the Prince is set to resume his education at the Copenhagen Business School with a bachelor’s degree in HA General Business Economics.

Just last October, Nikolai dropped out from military training, only two months in. He began the two-year course at the Royal Danish Army’s Sergeant School but felt a job in military wasn’t for him.

He can now be seen gracing the catwalk, as in 2018 he signed with modelling agency Scoop Models and has worked for Burberry and Dior.
