Meghan Markle's touching tribute to Princess Diana on wedding day

Princess Diana’s memory was beautifully interwoven into different elements of Prince Harry’s wedding to Meghan on Saturday.

From the reading delivered by Diana’s sister to her favourite flower, forget-me-knots, being featured in Meghan’s bouquet, it was clear that the People’s Princess’ legacy was honoured on her youngest son’s special day.

As the Duke and Duchess of Sussex departed for their evening wedding reception and Meghan donned her second wedding dress, designed by Stella McCartney, she was seen wearing one of Princess Diana’s favourite jewellery pieces.

The aquamarine ring, owned by the late Princess Diana, was seen on Meghan’s finger as the newlyweds drove in a classic Jaguar to their intimate reception at Frogmore House.

Reportedly, Harry gifted Meghan the exquisite ring on the special occasion to celebrate their new life together.

Princess Diana first wore the ring in Australia in October 1996, when she attended the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute Dinner Dance at the Entertainment Centre.

The following year, she famously wore the ring while attending the Christies auction of her memorable outfits.

The aquamarine ring is part of a set, which also includes a pearl bracelet with a matching aquamarine stone in the middle.

This beautiful wedding tribute is not the first time Princess Diana has been remembered in the jewels gifted to Meghan.

Meghan’s engagement ring features two diamonds from Princess Diana’s personal collection.
