Help a 93-year-old Australian bride choose her wedding dress
A 93-year-old woman from Canberra is about to marry her best friend in her retirement village whom she has known for more than 20 years.
Frank has asked Sylvia to marry him “many times” but Sylvia refused as she thought taking a new surname would be disrespectful to her late husband.
Last year, Sylvia became ill and moved to Canberra and Frank thought he had lost all hope.
After Sylvia recovered to full health she convinced Frank, who was living in Adelaide, to move to Canberra with her.
Sylvia had learned that you can keep your own surname when you get married so after Frank had lived in Canberra for a few months, he asked her to marry him and she said yes.
Sylvia recently visited clothing store Birdsnest to select her wedding outfit and was stuck on four different options.

A year ago Sylvia took ill and moved to Canberra to be near her family, and Frank thought all hope was lost. When Sylvia recovered, she found Frank, who was living in Adelaide, and convinced him to move to Canberra to be with her. Frank arrived a couple of months ago and again asked Sylvia to marry him. The store uploaded each of the four options to Facebook and have asked the online community to help Sylvia select the outfit for her special day.
Many users have given Sylvia advice and one user in the wine industry has offered to send Sylvia and Frank a “vintage sherry or port” for their July wedding.
