Camilla celebrates birthday with Vogue debut

The Duchess of Cornwall will be marking her 75th birthday by making her debut on the cover of British Vogue.

Camilla is due to appear in July's issue, which coincides with her birthday, after months of negotiations, a source told The Mail on Sunday.

"Conversations have been ongoing for months so this has been in the pipeline for a long time," the source said.

"The timing has been carefully thought through and her 75th birthday felt like the appropriate time."

The Duchess reportedly turned down the offer for a team of celebrity stylists to fly to prepare her for the photoshoot.

Instead, she opted for a small team for the shoot and interview, both held in secrecy last week. according to 9Honey.

Her photoshoot comes just months after Queen Elizabeth II graced the cover for the first time as queen, after appearing as a one-year-old on her mother’s knee in 1927.

That issue, which celebrated the monarch's Platinum Jubilee, ran with the headline: "Platinum Queen: Vogue celebrates Her Majesty's 70 years on the throne”.

The two royals join a growing list who have had the honour, including Princess Diane, Princess Anne, and Kate Middleton.

In 2019, Meghan Markle became the first royal to get behind-the-scenes of Vogue after serving as Guest Editor for the September issue, and was also the first person to guest-edit a September issue in the magazine’s 103-year run, per 9Honey.
