Triple M radio host passes away after lengthy health battle

Radio presenter Bob Peters has died following a long battle with polycystic kidney disease.

Bob was only 45 years old when he was diagnosed with the chronic illness which saw his kidneys fail.

The former announcer on 107.7 Triple M on the Central Coast of NSW was receiving ongoing dialysis every second day in hospital to help keep him alive.

Unfortunately the side effects of the chronic illness led to other things such as golden staph infection, to preventative brain surgery due to an aneurysm.

He was placed on the organ donor list to receive functioning kidneys and after 10 years a match was made.

Tragically, it was only five years later in January 2021 that doctors discovered that Bob had in fact terminal cancer.

This prompted Bob to quit his job and fulfil his dream of touring around Australia in an RV.

His funeral is being held on Friday, June 24 at Mackay Family Funerals in Ourimbah, followed by a wake at Tall Timbers Hotel.

Bob was also known for his work at the Nine Network and ARN, as well as his voice-overs for Channel 10 and Fox Sports.
