Revenge attack: Man flushes grandparents' ashes down the toilet
An American man has been accused of flushing his grandparents’ ashes down the toilet as a revenge attack after his mother kicked him out of her house.
33-year-old Thomas Porter Wells was asked to leave his mother’s residence in Pittsburgh, US in September, where he had been staying temporarily, after she complained about his drinking and marijuana use.
Wells’ mother, Denise Porter, told police that she learned in February through a relative that Wells had flushed the ashes of her late mother and father down the toilet before leaving the house. The ashes had been kept in a box in Porter’s bedroom, according to police records.
In a phone call with his mother, Wells allegedly denied flushing the ashes but later sent a text message saying: “Yep and soon as you die you’ll be going in the same spot where you belong down the s***ter you b***h.”
Wells is now facing two counts of abuse of a corpse and one count of criminal mischief. He is currently free on non-monetary bond and is due for a preliminary hearing on May 13.
