Patti Newton rushed to hospital
Aussie TV icon Bert Newton’s wife Patti has been rushed to hospital after having a fall. The 72-year-old took to Instagram to share an update with her fans, telling them she’s “so lucky” to not have suffered any severe trauma.
“Had a fall and hit my head,” Patti wrote. “I’m so lucky after scans no permanent damage, just a sore and glued head. Thank you to [Frankston Hospital] they were just wonderful to us.”
Fans and showbiz personalities alike were quick to send their best wishes to the beloved star, with presenter Leila McKinnon writing, “Oh your poor thing. Lots of love” and Today Extra presenter David Campbell’s wife Lisa commenting, “Oh Patti! Sending you all our love!”
The fall comes just one month after the TV personality opened up about her “devastating” battle with shingles, encouraging all Australians over 60 to be aware of their risk and get immunised. The vaccine is free for people between the ages of 70 and 79.
We wish Patti a speedy recovery!
