Olivia Newton-John gives heartfelt cancer update

Olivia Newton-John has shared with fans a rare update on her ongoing battle with cancer.

The Grease superstar told Closer magazine this week she feels "very good" and attributes that to her husband, John Easterling, who is helping her manage the pain.

"There are a lot of herbs that I take," Newton-John told the UK magazine.

"And over the last 10 years, I've used cannabis. My husband makes me tinctures that help me immensely with pain, inflammation, sleep and anxiety. I'd like to research all that and find out what else is going on because I feel good."

In the interview, the 72-year-old also opened up about her diet that was inspired by her daughter, Chloe Lattanzi.

"I've also been eating vegan because my daughter was visiting me and she's a vegan," Newton-John added.

"I feel very good. I try to do something for myself every day that I love, like seeing my horses or sitting in the garden."

The Australian actress was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 1992.

She was then diagnosed for the second time in 2013, as this time the cancer spread to her shoulder.

Despite the actress once again overcoming the illness, she was sadly told in 2017 that it had metastasised and spread to her bones.

Newton-John remains positive despite the cancer diagnoses throughout the years, telling People Magazine back in February that she still feels so blessed.

"I'm so lucky to still be doing all these things," she admitted.

"I don't think I imagined living this long! I feel very blessed.

"I'm very lucky to be married to a wonderful man who is a plant medicine man, and he has great knowledge.

“Now he's growing medicinal cannabis for me, and it just has been wonderful. It helps me in every area.”
