Nursing home staff share the thanks they receive

A nursing home has many cherished moments and memories. It is a large community with very special members who contribute to the daily lifestyle of a communal place. It’s an expanding and developing community for both the residents and staff who have shared some of their special moments with each other. Here are some whispers that staff members have heard around the nursing home villages – they are kind words from staff to patients and vice versa.

Whispers of kind words from inside the nursing home:

You’re my favourite person in here (but don’t tell the other staff that I say the exact same thing to them too).

I appreciate who you are, what you do for me and how you do it for me.

You’ve taught me what patience is – I’ve never met someone whose ha it before!
Without you, I’m like a ship without a rudder.

I am so happy to see you. I love your smiling face. You help me so much when you come. I don’t feel so crazy.

Thank you for listening to me and not giving up on me.

I know you understand that I’m not crazy, but sometimes I feel like I am. My family doesn’t get it and the others here don’t have time to talk to me.

You help me to look at my life here in a way that my family and friends can’t.

It’s so nice to speak and be listened to. I know I forget things, but sharing my past memories with you or speaking about my family sometimes brings back things I didn’t know I could remember.

I like that you can talk to me, listen to me and bring me food without bossing me around like my wife used to.
