Elton John hospitalised after fall
Elton John has been hospitalised after suffering a fall at his luxury French villa just outside of Nice on Sunday.
The Rocket Man singer, 76, stayed overnight at the Princess Grace Hospital in Monaco after "slipping" in his home, as a precautionary measure.
The star has since recovered and is back at home after the incident.
"Elton visited the local hospital as a precautionary measure," a representative for the icon told People magazine.
"Following check ups, he was immediately discharged this morning and is now back at home and in good health."
This comes almost two years after the icon revealed he had a hip replacement surgery in November 2021.
"I've had a hip replacement, but I'm full of beans and I'm full of zest. But this is just a prompter to say 'come on you've got more to do now,'" he told the Evening Standard at the time.
"I may not look as if I'm 100 per cent fit – but I'm not quite – but I'm still raring to go and I've got a lot more work to do as far as my life goes. So this is just a reminder that there's more to do."
He recently ended his final tour in Stockholm, Sweden with a touching message after 52 years of performing.
