Can you spot the child drowning in a public pool?

Video footage has captured the horrifying moment an eagle-eyed lifeguard spots a child drowning in a public pool, packed with swimmers.

The lifeguard immediately springs into action when she notices the swimmer in distress, in a pool that is believed to be in the US.

The video, posted to the YouTube channel Lifeguard Rescue, shows the child losing their grip on an inflatable ring and then calling for help with their arms in the air.

Can you spot the child in distress?

The child is in the deep end of the pool near the middle, between two groups of swimmers.

The footage shows the lifeguard jumping into the pool with her emergency life float and dragging the child to safety.

According to the Royal Life Saving National Report, 291 people drowned in Australia in the 2017 financial year.

The report reveals that 44 of those deaths occurred in a swimming pool.
