Brave 11-year-old who saved mother’s life among honoured triple zero heroes

Angela Aspinall may not have been here if it wasn’t for her daughter.

In April this year, the Drummoyne mother-of-two was going in and out of consciousness after losing a considerable amount of blood.

That was when her 11-year-old daughter, Lucinda, realised something wasn't right, and quickly sprung to action and called triple zero.

“I’m extremely proud of the way she acted, how she remembered our address and phone number and kept a really cool head,” Ms Aspinall told 9News.

“She was very, very scared at first and crying. I mean nine months prior to that they lost their Dad to a cardiac arrest, so she was worrying, ‘am I going to be parentless?’”

Lucinda did all the right steps, as she stayed on the phone until paramedics arrived.

She was on of five children to be recognised for their efforts and was awarded a Star Award by the NSW Ambulance Service. The youngest just five years old.
