Terminally ill dad shares first dance with daughters in mock wedding
After learning her husband, 44-year-old Chris Weeks, was dying from aggressive colon cancer, Texas woman Spring Sommerville Weeks organised a very special mock wedding for the doting dad and his three daughters.
Taking to Facebook to share the touching story, Spring thanked her local community for coming together and donating everything needed to make the special day possible.
“I really didn’t do anything,” Spring told King5 News. “So many people just came forward to help.”
However, it wasn’t exactly easy for Chris. “It was tough thinking of them watching that video on a screen someday,” he said. “But I don’t want to mess this up for them so I did my best today.”
He also has one last message to whoever his daughters, 21-year-old Bailee, 18-year-old Regan and 16-year-old Paige, should choose to marry. “You’ll never treat them better than I did, but I hope you try.”
