Serena Williams' sentimental return to Australia

Serena Williams is set to make a stunning return to tennis just months after giving birth, and is reportedly “very likely” to return for the Australian Open.

Tennis Australia chief executive Craig Tiley confirmed the 23-time Grand Slam winner is in preparation for the January tournament in Melbourne.

"She's got her visa, she's entered, she's practicing," he told the Herald Sun.

"There's no question she'll be ready in our view."

The 36-year-old has already won the Australian Open seven times including earlier this year, while she was in the early weeks of her pregnancy.

The tennis champion gave birth to her daughter Alexis Olympia Ohanian in September, but is reportedly keen to add to her legacy.
