"In sickness and in health": Unlucky groom takes a tumble on wedding day

A groom has managed to sustain serious injuries during a wedding reception in Sydney's Northern Beaches.

Adam Quinn was at his reception with new wife, Helen, when he decided to bust out some old dance moves.

In the video, which has been shared around online, we see Adam telling Helen he loves her before he begins to dance wildly, with friends attempting to join in on the fun.

Wife Helen has revealed it was during his attempt at the impressive moves that the incident took place.

Helen said: ”He was running around in a circle singing parkway drive and slipped and broke his fall on his elbow so he landed with full force on it and really awkwardly."

The fall resulted in a painful dislocation, with the pain so severe an ambulance was called immediately to the venue.

Helen has shared footage of the fall on her Instagram stories, showing her new husband being strapped onto a gurney and transported to hospital.

Helen later shared a photo of the couple on Instagram along with the caption: "In sickness and in health #weddingday.”

"Omg. Well you will have a story to tell the grandkids in years to come. Congratulations to you both," one of her followers wrote.

"A wedding night to remember," another added.

Adam has since made a full recovery and the couple went on to enjoy their honeymoon.
