Fifi Box is pregnant again! The sweet way she told daughter Trixie
Radio presenter and television host Fifi Box has announced that she is expecting her second child.
The presenter took to Instagram on Sunday to share a very sweet video, where she told her 5-year-old daughter Trixie the news about her new baby brother or sister.
The duo is sitting on the couch when Fifi announces her exciting news.
“Can I tell you something? You know how Mummy’s been really really sick lately... Did you know that it’s good sick? Do you know what’s in my tummy?” explained Fifi to her daughter.
After a pause, Trixie said: “A baby?”
Fifi couldn’t contain her joy and said, “Yes, we’re having a baby! A doctor told me. Sweetheart, there’s a for real baby in my tummy!”
She also explained that Trixie is going to have a new sibling.
“You’re going to have a little brother or sister! Can you believe that?”
Trixie then felt her mum’s baby bump.
Fifi couldn’t contain her joy, as she posted the video with a caption that explained the issues she was going through with IVF.
“We’re having a baby! Yes Trixie and I are over the moon/jumping out of our skin/can’t stop smiling/floating on air/dancing in the streets/walking on sunshine and every other metaphor that conveys absolute pure joy,” Fifi said in her post.
She went on: “How did this happen you might ask? Well, a few years ago I made an appointment to see an IVF specialist, the amazing Dr Sameer Jatkar at Monash IVF, and I began an IVF journey to extend our little family.
“After a series of egg retrievals and freezing, last year I started the process to become pregnant via an anonymous donor.”
Box continued on saying: “I am still pinching myself that I have been this blessed and that this little miracle is growing within me, a much wanted and longed for sibling for a very excited big sister!
“I know the value of this miracle because I have seen first hand the heartbreak, tears and sacrifices so many women and couples suffer on their IVF journeys and my heart goes out to those who are facing that pain and struggle. It is not lost on me that I am one of the lucky ones.”
Fifi added, “Being a mum is my greatest joy in life, it is quite simply everything to me. Trixie has brought me more happiness and love than I ever imagined possible and to feel my heart expanding to include this little angel kicking and rollicking within me, I am overwhelmed with how much love and happiness the future holds.”
She finished off the sweet announcement saying: “I will cherish Trixie and this little angel forever, and hold them so close for the rest of our lives #family.”
Trixie is the daughter of Grant Kenny, 55, who Fifi shared a brief romance with in 2002. However, Fifi didn't confirm who the father was until Trixie was three years old.
The pair still remain close, despite going their seperate ways as Grant still regularly visits Trixie at Fifi's home in Melbourne.
