Urgent warning issued for Qantas email scam

The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has issued an urgent warning for people to be on the lookout for a scam involving fake Qantas emails.

The emails, which have been doctored to look identical to those sent by Qantas, offer rewards of cash and frequent flyer points for participating in a survey.

Here is a copy of the email below:

As you can see, the email looks like the genuine article, but it’s anything but. The scam will seek to steal your personal information, email, password and bank details.

The ACMA said to be on the lookout in particular for subject lines that read: “Customer Satisfaction Survey, Earn up to 95 AUD Plus 1,000 bonus Qantas Points*”.

It’s advised that if you receive the email to delete it immediately.
