Unemployed man wins $50 million lottery

An unemployed man from western Sydney will never have to worry about working again after winning the $50 million Powerball lottery.

The man, who wished to remain anonymous, was reportedly home with his wife discussing their future when he received the phone call that would change their lives.

The man, aged in his 30s, reportedly thought someone was pulling his leg.

NSW Lotteries told Fairfax Media he answered, “No. No. No. Don't tell me that. Are you serious man?  I'll probably faint. I don't know what to do. What should I do now? Should I call my mum? Should I hug my wife?  What do I do?”

When asked what he would do with his winnings, the man said he planned to share a portion of it with family and friends and also eventually open a restaurant.

He told Fairfax Media, “I want to open a restaurant - that's my passion - and give 50 per cent of the food away for free to people who need it.  I don't need profits, but there are homeless, students who are struggling, and people in need.”

What an incredible story! Do you know anyone who’s ever had an unexpected windfall?
