The return of ALDI’s $199 cult product sells out in 90 seconds

Aussies are always ready to snap up ALDI bargains – and today was no exception.

One of ALDI’s most popular Special Buys releases returned to stores today, and shoppers all around Australia braved through the heatwave to line up for the item.

The popular $199 rocking chair was first released in July 2017 as part of the limited edition range, sending shoppers into a frenzy. The chair went back on sale in January and July last year to sell out within a minute in stores.

This year, people are still as excited about the rocker, which has been re-released with an updated design and new upholstery. News.com.au reported that the North Strathfield branch in Sydney saw about 35 people queue in the 30C heat in hopes of getting their hands at the best-selling item.

Shoppers cited the chair’s high quality and affordable price as the reason they were willing to line up in the morning. The chair comes with both normal and rocking legs, making it a popular nursery items for parents.

“I heard it is really good quality and it sold out so fast last year so I thought I’d get one too,” a pregnant shopper told News.com.au.

“We have a four-week-old baby boy at home and my wife wanted it for his nursery,” said another shopper. “Normally I wouldn’t have got it but because of the price, especially when others sell for so much more, I couldn’t pass it up.”

The chairs in the display racks sold out immediately, and customers could be heard saying, “I can’t believe how quick they sell” as the staff handed them the chair from the back of the store.
