The big change coming to Coles

Ever gotten a roast chicken from Coles and drove home only to realise it was cold? Turns out, you’re not alone.

In order to tackle this problem, Coles has partnered up with Uber Eats to target the time poor consumer market.

The collaboration will mean that you’re able to get hot food from Coles delivered to your door in less than half an hour.

At the moment, this service is only available in Pagewood, NSW, but if it’s successful, will branch out across the country.

In order to take advantage of the hot food delivery, you simply need to order through the Uber Eats app.

If you’re wondering why it’s taken so long for Coles to branch out into the delivery food space, you can thank its drivers who gave them the idea.

According to Coles director of Fresh Food, Alex Freudmann, customers have also been wanting this service for a while.

He revealed to news.com.au: “Our delivery drivers are always telling us they see Uber Eats bags on benches.

“After observing that customer habits are changing, that they’re even more time poor with less time to cook, we thought this would be a good way to help make life easier.”

The idea of the service is to give busy, working people access to a full and proper meal.

“We believe this trial will complement the current Coles Online offering by delivering meals in an average of less than 30 minutes, which can be tracked in the Uber Eats app from the time of order to drop-off,” said Jodie Auster, regional GM for Uber Eats Australia and New Zealand.
