The $9 designer Kmart knock-off people can't get enough of

The world of candles is a sweet-smelling market, and the French brand Diptyque has reached a big market by appearing on the social media feeds of celebrities and influencers.

The catch is though – each candle requires you to dig deep into your pockets for one of their luxury fragrances, costing upwards of $80 just for one candle.

However, the crew at Mamamia thinks they’ve found the ultimate knock-off, in one of the most beloved Australian stores – Kmart.

If you like a floral and rosy scent, much reminiscent of Diptyque’s bestselling smell, ‘Baies’, then Kmart has got your back with their $9 Decadent Scent Pink Peonies Fragrant Candle.

Alternatively if you’re not much for floral smells, perhaps you’d appreciate a subtle, figgy scent like Target’s Fig Leaf and Verbena candle that retails for just $8 – a steep comparison to the French brand’s Figuier candle that starts at $48.

Although these scents are not exact matches, they share tones and notes that are highly comparable – and saving you a lot of money.

The great thing about these discount store candles is not only are they affordable, but the packaging is a thick and heavy glass on-trend with current styles that we know you will be loving. Plus, they're also a great gift idea.
