Secret Santa pays off everyone's Christmas shopping at local Kmart

The festive season is all about spreading joy and love and one generous Aussie has gone above and beyond to make people's day so much better.

A Secret Santa at a Victoria Gardens Kmart in inner-city Melbourne, covered the cost of items on lay-by for all of the customers at the local store, making some of them cry tears of joy.

"We are overwhelmed by our customer's generosity at this time of year, and want to thank them for their act of kindness towards other members of our community," a Kmart spokeswoman said.

"We are proud to call them one of our customers."

The customer, who chose to remain anonymous, said that they simply wanted to contribute to something positive this holiday season.

The shopper reportedly told retail staff that they "just wanted to do something nice for the community."

The exact amount of the donation remains undisclosed, but they revealed that most of the items were Christmas gifts.
