Budget Aldi wine named best in the world

Just when you thought Aldi’s range couldn’t get any more diverse, the budget supermarket outperformed a range of suppliers at the prestigious International Wine Challenge, with one of the retailer’s budget wines picking up the silver medal.

Exquisite Collection Côtes De Provence 2016, a rosé that costs just $8, took out the award at a night which is considered the equvalient of the Oscars of the wine world.

Tony Baines, Joint Managing Director of Corporate Buying at Aldi told The Sun, “We have been working closely with renowned winemaker Jean Claude Mas to change perceptions around French wine, which is often perceived as expensive and intimidating, so it is fantastic to see some of these products acknowledged as some of the best in the world,”

Aldi’s other wines performed quite well too, with the Lot 25 Prosecco and Organic Prosecco, which will both set you back less than $20, performing well also.

Unfortunately you can't get this wine in Australia yet. But you can try this award-winning rosé.
