Aldi to donate leftover food to charity this Christmas

Aldi has announced that it will be donating its leftover food to “those less fortunate” this Christmas, with the German retailer handing out surplus goods on Christmas Eve.

The move, which affects Aldi outlets in the UK has been widely praised on social media, with shoppers urging other major supermarkets to follow suit.

Aldi reportedly will have the whole gamut of Christmas goods ready for those in need including fresh fruit and veggies, meal, fish, bread and chilled goods.

Since 2012, Aldi in the UK has donated food to those in need.
