Police hunt after hit and run involving pregnant woman
Police in Melbourne are on the hunt for a driver who ran down a pregnant woman and allegedly fled the scene.
The woman was getting out of her car on Sydney Road in Coburg just after 10 am on August 26 when she was struck down by a red Ford Hatchback.
The incident occurred as the driver veered into the left lane travelling northbound, leading to hitting the woman and knocking her to the ground.
The perpetrator did not stop the car after the accident and the pregnant woman was then hospitalised with a broken leg.
Police have released images of the vehicle they’re chasing. Anyone with any extra information or dash cam footage is urged to contact authorities.
