19-year-old man charged with 208 child sex offences

WA Police have charged a 19-year-old man with over 200 child sex offences after he was found out to allegedly be linked to a national online child exploitation network.

Police allege that the man from Gosnells, in Perth's south-east, sexually abused five boys between 2014 and 2020.

The victims are believed to have been around the ages of three and 11, and the man knew them through family and friends.

It is further alleged the man recorded some of the abuse and shared the videos and photos online with other alleged child sex offenders around Australia.

Police say that the man who allegedly shared the footage with was a NSW man who was arrested and charged back in May.

The Australian Federal Police investigators in NSW told WA authorities after they combed through the NSW man's electronic devices and found out he allegedly communicated with a man in WA.

The Gosnells man is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court today charged with 208 offences.

The offences include 60 counts of distributing child exploitation material, 58 counts of indecently recording a child under 13 years, 26 counts of sexual penetration of a child under 13 and two counts of threatening to kill.
