5 Australian towns that are worth the road trip

Australia is a beautiful country that has so many towns that go undiscovered by regular Australian travellers. Before you jet off on your next destination holiday, read through these five Australian towns that will make a road trip through our sunburnt country a competitive holiday option.

1. Yamba, NSW

Yamba is located 670km north of Sydney and 275km south of Brisbane. Yamba has a relaxed lifestyle and it won’t matter what time of year you plan to road trip here as Yamba and two other coastal areas in the world have been declared by CSIRO as having the best climate in the world. While you are visiting you could go to the various beaches in the town such as Pippi Beach or Turners Beach. 3. Robe, South Australia

Robe is 335km south of Adelaide and is a town and fishing port. The town is made up of historical buildings, fishing fleets, lakes, ocean and bush. Popular activities you can do in Robe include visiting Robe Sealife Centre, visiting Robe War Memorial or visiting some local vineyards. There are also standout coastal walks and beaches that would be a great way to spend an afternoon.

4. Geraldton, Western Australia

Geraldton is 440km north of Perth in Western Australia. Geraldton is a coastal town that boasts conservation parks, wildlife parks, vineyards, galleries, beaches and fishing. If you want a piece of everything while you are away – nature, culture, leisure- then this is the town for you.

5. Lorne, Victoria

Lorne is 140km south-west of Melbourne in Victoria. This place is one of the most tranquil towns situated along the Great Ocean Road and is positioned between Loutit Bay and rainforests in the Otway Ranges. Lorne is renowned for its fishing and seafood but the town also offers cultural heritage and natural attractions such as Erskine Falls.
