Why The Project host Carrie Bickmore is furious at Lisa Wilkinson
Reports suggest that The Project host Carrie Bickmore was furious when she received news of Lisa Wilkinson’s big money move from Channel Nine to Network 10.
Wilkinson’s deal is rumoured to be worth $2.3 million and with see the former Today host sit at The Project Desk with Bickmore, Waleed Aly and Peter Hellier. Bickmore, who has hosted the show since its launch in 2009, is rumoured to be paid around $500,000 a year.
A report in The Daily Telegraph suggests sources close to Bickmore said she was “p**sed off” when she heard of Wilkinson’s arrival, after locking in her deal weeks before.
On air, The Project hosts seem to have welcomed the personality with open arms, but rumours that it is a different story behind the scenes continue to swirl.

Network Ten confirmed it had nabbed the TV veteran in a statement on Monday night, less than an hour after Wilkinson confirmed she would be leaving today.
“Lisa will join the team of Ten’s award-winning news and current affairs program, The Project, in a hosting role. She will work alongside The Project’s hosts Carrie Bickmore, Waleed Aly and Peter Helliar, as well as hosting The Sunday Project,” the Ten media release announced.
“The Project has recently been expanded to six nights a week, Sunday to Friday, at 6.30pm.”
