Karl Stefanovic was left stunned as his Today show colleague confirmed she was pregnant live on air.

Stefanovic was blindsided as journalist Jess Millward rubbed her belly and revealed she was expecting a child.

Millward was reporting about theme parks in the Gold Coast reopening, but wasn’t able to take advantage of the theme park due to her “condition”.

“I’m a thrill seeker from way back, a real bad***, if you can say that on TV,” joked Millward.

“I was all ready to go on the rides yesterday, super excited, cameraman ready to go, and then I remembered I have a certain condition at the moment, so I can’t really,” she said.

Stefanovic, 45, then asked her about her condition, saying she had “no idea” what she was talking about.

His co-host Allison Langdon playfully reminded him that he did know and that it was a “good condition”.

Millward gave Stefanovic some help, saying that she was banned on going on the rides for the next “five months”.

“She’s having a baby!” Langdon said, confirming the news for viewers.

“Congratulations Jess, oh my goodness!” Stefanovic said.

Langdon then joked that Stefanovic had been “under a rock” for the last few weeks as he took time off to spend time with his new daughter Harper, who his wife Jasmine Yarbrough welcomed in early May.

“I had a bit of time off, not under a rock. That is fantastic. No wonder she can’t go on that ride!” Stefanovic said.
