The awkward moment on Today that left Karl and Georgie speechless
When you’re filming a live TV show anything can happen, and while this can sometimes be great on other occasions the results can be very awkward.
Karl Stefanovic and Georgie Gardner didn’t know what to say this morning when it became clear that viewer Cathy gave a big shoutout to former host Lisa Wilkinson.
The awkward moment happened during a free fuel segment when reporter Tim Gilbert surprised the viewer with a fully-paid tank.
When Tim asked her to say hello, the viewer Cathy waved to the camera and said, "Hi Lisa!".
The shocked reporter quickly reminded Cathy that Lisa had left, and Cathy immediately corrected herself, "Oh Georgie and Karl, love your show".
"Yeah Lisa's one of our producers so morning Lisa," Tim joked.
"She’s very good too Lisa," Karl joked. "Lisa is outstanding."
