Disturbing photos show what kids look like while watching TV

Have you ever thought about what you look like when you’re completely engrossed in a television program? What about your grandchildren – who are of a technology-infused, screen-saturated generation? Australian photographer Donna Stevens has captured the faces of young children watching TV, and the result is at once beautiful, and deeply worrying.

Each of the photos in Stevens’ series, aptly titled “Idiot Box”, was taken while the children were involved in whatever show they were watching. With a strategically chosen black background and matching dark clothes, the youngsters’ faces seem to float in space, adrift in a hypnotic state of “entertainment.”
