Meghan Markle’s family and friends to speak out in new documentary

Meghan Markle's family and friends will speak out about the almost-royal in a new British ITV documentary called Prince Harry and Meghan: Truly, Madly, Deeply.

Amid speculation and rumours the pair are already engaged – or will be soon – this one-off documentary claims to examine the relationship between Prince Harry, 32, and his American actress girlfriend Meghan Markle, 36.

It will detail Meghan’s life from her humble beginnings to her acting successes to finally her fairytale romance with a prince.

The documentary will feature Meghan’s controversial half-sister Samantha, who says their upbringing was not impoverished at all.

She said: "The tabloids wanted to create this ghetto princess story … the African America rags-to-riches Cinderella. We were raised in a very beautiful upper middle-class home in the San Fernando Valley of southern California - nowhere near "gangland."

Addressing her controversial remarks where she called Meghan “Princess Pushy”, in the new doco Samantha says she was misquoted by tabloids and was the victim of “mistruths” and that she “never said those words”.

“The tabloids really milk that for all it's worth, so it created a divide between Meghan and I,” she said.

The documentary also delves into Meghan's first marriage to film producer Trevor Engleson.

They were together for seven years from 2011, divorcing two years after they wed.

Abby Wathen, Meghan's friend and co-star in the movie Random Encounters, told ITV she and Meghan bonded over their divorces.

"Meghan, she’s not one of these people that dwells, she said.

"I was destroyed and Meghan was really, 'It was great to feel empowered'. I feel she took her power back. It wasn’t the marriage she needed to be in and she moved on."

Meghan and harry have been rumoured to be dating for over a year and only recently went public with their romance at the Invictus Games.
