Grant Denyer back in hospital after serious health setback
The health journey of Grant Denyer has been a rollercoaster as of late, as he aims to recover fully from a back injury that occurred in a farming accident in late March.
The accident was exacerbated by a back injury 10 years ago, where Grant was left with a broken back following a monster truck accident.
His wife, Chezzi Denyer, has posted the latest update on her Instagram page. The caption reads:
“A little over 4 weeks ago, Grant injured his back while doing some routine work on our farm. He was diagnosed with an Annular Fissure, or 'Disc Tear' in his L5-S1 Disc with a disc bulge.
“Anyone who has been in this position knows how seriously painful these injuries can be.
“Grant has undergone two epidural procedures, using cortisone to try to reduce the pain however they have only provided limited relief.
Chezzi explained her husband's latest attempt to return to work, as Grant loves both of his jobs.
“Grant attempted to return to work as he loves his job on both Channel Ten, and 2Day FM Breakfast.
Chezzi also explained that the pain was too much and Grant was going into physiotherapy to help aid his recovery.
“However after being left in significant amount of pain after hosting Dancing With The Stars Grand Finale show last night, he has decided to take a further two weeks off all work to be admitted to a Sports Physiotherapy Recovery Hospital to attempt to recover from his injury.
“We are hopeful Grant will be back to his usual happy and pain free self then."
She also gave a sweet shoutout to other families who have dealt with a loved one having a painful back injury.
“A big shout out to all the families with loved ones suffering from painful back injuries and conditions right now. You are in our thoughts!”
