Gogglebox favourites reveal they’ve quit the show

Gogglebox breakout stars Wayne Mott and Tom Walsh have announced that they’ve quit the Channel Ten show and won’t be returning next season.

The duo revealed that they have “three episodes left” to film and wouldn’t be renewing their contracts once they finish up.

“I’ve had a lot of fun. And I think its just time,” Tom told the Word For Word podcast.

“Me and Wayne are ready to retire. We’re ready to buy a farm and go bush.

Although TV Tonight reported that they “had a change of heart” since their decision was announced, the couple seemed adamant that nothing could stop them from walking away.

Tom explained that an offer of more money could not make them backflip on their decision.

Tom and Wayne, who have appeared on the show since 2015, released a book of their favourite cocktail recipes earlier this year.

Gogglebox, a reality show which sees everyday Aussies commentate on some of the biggest TV moments of the week, was voted the most popular entertainment program at this year’s Logie awards.

Channel Ten is yet to comment on Tom and Wayne’s departure from the show.
