The moment you missed: Georgie Gardner hilariously puts Karl Stefanovic in his place
Today show co-host Georgie Gardner has amused fans after she hilariously put Karl Stefanovic in his place on live TV this morning.
The hosts were discussing how a photographer is attempting to stage a mass nude photoshoot next month when Karl Stefanovic reminded his fellow workers of the time he ran naked through the studio, joking he likes to “nude up at every possible moment”.
In the behind-the-scenes footage from 2015, Karl is seen running through the studio with only a super imposed cricket ball covering his manhood.
Georgie and Sylvia Jeffreys immediately teamed up to make jokes about Karl.
“Look at the size of that cricket ball,” Sylvia said.
“It’s quiet a small one, isn’t it,” Georgie replied. “That’s the smallest cricket ball I’ve ever seen. It’s tiny!”
Karl received the banter well but attempted to defend himself.
“No it’s not,” he said, nervously shuffling papers around him, mentioning that it was “very cold” in the studio when he did it.
However, the girls continued to put Karl in his place, with Georgie saying it was a “blink and you’ll miss it moment”.
“Oh that’s enough,” he said, asking them to stop the jokes.
“It’s almost not even there,” Sylvia continued.
When Georgie tried to understand why he ran through the studio naked, Karl said he “didn’t want to talk about it”.
“You’ve humiliated me on national TV,” he said, then changing the topic to last night’s State of Origin game.
After Georgie’s hilarious takedown of her co-host, she was praised by viewers on social media.
“Give it to Karl Georgie, love it when he is put into place ha,” wrote viewer Glenn Clifford on Twitter.
When Lisa Wilkinson announced last October that she was leaving the Today show for The Project, Georgie joined Karl to co-host the breakfast show earlier this year.
In March, Karl was busted criticising his new co-host in an Uber, and later publicly apologised for the incident.
