First look at Lisa Wilkinson on The Project

In October, Today host Lisa Wilkinson announced her shock departure from the Channel Nine breakfast show after filling the role since 2007.

Hours later, the journalist stunned fans by announcing that she was joining Network Ten’s The Project.

Now, Australia has been given a first look at the presenter alongside her new co-hosts Carrie Bickmore, Waleed Aly and Peter Helliar.

In the light-hearted promo video, the original panel appear to poke fun at Wilkinson, asking what she can bring to the show.

"For example, I have a Gold Logie," Waleed says.

"And I have a Gold Logie," adds Carrie.

"And I've got a Golden Gaytime," jokes Peter, before Lisa fires off with her own accomplishments.

"Well, I'm a journalist, broadcaster, mother, former magazine editor, youth campaigner, women's advocate, oh, and I'm a member of the Order of Australia," she replies.

"Welcome aboard," says Carrie.

The Project will begin airing for 2018 next week, however, Wilkinson won’t appear on the show until the end of January.

After Lisa announced that she was leaving Today due to an alleged pay gap dispute, TheProject panel offered their congratulations to their new co-worker.

"Nine's loss is our gain here at Network Ten," Carrie said after the shock move.

"An incredible woman — smart, funny, down to earth. We couldn't be more excited."

Waleed joked, "I have always really loved Lisa and it is nice to be able to contractually say it now."
